When we got married in the summer of 2015, our wedding gift to ourselves was a Can-Am Spider. To embark on many miles of adventure, we wanted to buy a small trailer that our Spider could tow with ease. After doing some research, we realized there was nothing lightweight on the market. So we decided to build our own small, custom trailer tailored to my husband\u2019s and my needs and tastes. To do this, we started by adhering to Bombardier\u2019s warranty requirement of a total weight of 400 lbs. For our first model, we managed to achieve a weight of 390 lbs.<\/p>\n
It was in the summer of 2016 that our adventures with our Spider and our micro-trailer began. Every time, people\u2019s reactions were simply extraordinary. Many of them were surprised and rushed over to ask us about the design, weight, construction, and so on. Most seemed envious and even told us they wanted one. There was also a lot of interest from people who owned cars.<\/p>\n
Following this surge in popularity, a reporter from Les Affaires reached out to us. He wrote an article, and we even made the front page. Subsequently, Radio-Canada did a report on our story and our micro-trailer, which generated 1,000,000,000 views in just 4 days on social media.<\/p>\n
People would stop by our house to buy a micro-trailer. Since I\u2019ve been in business for a long time, we seized this great opportunity. The summer of 2016 resulted in the design of 14 micro-trailers, all built inside our small 12-by-16-foot shed. The micro-trailer\u2019s shell was built inside, and then we had to go to our neighbor\u2019s place to install the sheet metal and the axle, since our shed was too small. Once that work was done, we had to do the finishing touches outside. One word comes to mind: \u201cphew.\u201d With the sale of our 14 micro-trailers, we raised enough money to build a workshop worthy of the name. Now we have the ideal, well-suited space for our production.
